Therapy / Counselling

Looking up a therapy site is the first step of taking a decision to move forward with therapy. We often carry this stigma of ‘therapy is for the mentally ill‘ and think ‘there is nothing wrong with me‘. We are still performing, and the job is going ‘ok’. Trust me, I have been there, done it. I thought there was nothing wrong, yet I was burning out at work whilst neglecting my family. Coming up against the same challenges over again, until I realised in therapy that I was fighting a childhood trauma over again.

I have over 20 years experience in corporate life, launching and running companies. And I felt like ‘there is something I want to resolve‘ most of my life and worked with a lot of coaches over the years until I consulted a therapist and understood and resolved my deeper challenges. That’s the real difference, with therapy we can go really deep and look at the root cause of what is holding you back.

And often, it is something that was triggered in childhood. A boss that is not understanding, a partner we fell out with, or just a nagging feeling that life ‘should‘ be different. Luckily the stigma is going away and people are more open to have therapy nowadays. And once we concluded therapy, we can work on coaching, via the Personal Consultancy model.

I also coach, so I understand both forms of empowering and transforming lives. That’s why I additionally to coaching trained in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and then psychotherapy and hypnotherapy – to help you break free from the patterns holding you back and step into the life you truly want to live. Particularly with hypnotherapy, we can access your unconscious; it used to be misunderstood, thanks to what you watch on TV, but it is a very powerful tool.

With most clients, talking therapy is still the main form of therapy and that is where we start for the first few sessions; but I am integrative trained, so we can work with Psychodynamics, Gestalt, IFS or a powerful combination is Solution Focused Therapy combined with Hypnotherapy. But one step at a time, we can decide on the modality as we go along. We create the process together!

As a middle-aged man, I often work with other middle-aged men who have done everything right on paper: Built the career, the family, the life. But inside? It’s different. You’re tired. Numb. Snapping more than you would like. Success hasn’t brought the peace you thought it would. You might be stuck, thinking that by the time you reach middle age, you should have paid off your mortgage, have at least two cars on the drive way and retirement is sorted. Most of us don’t.

If you are not a middle aged man, don’t be put off, and reach out anyway. I work with a lot of females, entrepreneurs and young adults that just start out in their career. I help you slow down, strip back the noise, and reconnect with who you are – beneath the titles, the to-do lists, the pressure.

Sometimes it is burnout, sometimes it is about the business, as you lie awake at 3 am and the stress gets to you. I also have experience working with cancer patients as I also volunteer for a Cancer Charity, the olive tree.

Because you’re not broken, you don’t need fixing. But you are allowed to want more.

And often, just talking things through, will already help you to connect the dots. Whether you’re struggling with trauma, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, confidence issues, or depression, I provide a tailored, results-driven approach to help you move forward. By utilising integrative psychotherapy, I use the most effective methodologies to create deep, lasting change.

If you’re ready to overcome limiting beliefs, gain clarity, and take control of your life, let’s work together to make it happen. Some of my clients stay on and engage in coaching as well. There is an integrative therapy and coaching approach I offer, and I wrote my dissertation on how therapeutic knowledge enhances coaching outcomes. Sometimes the work feels like the Roman god Janus who was able to look into the past (therapy) and the future (coaching) – also known as the god of beginnings, endings, transitions, doors and gates.

As a Hypno-Psychotherapist, I blend various psychotherapeutic approaches such as Parts Therapy, Gestalt, Hypnotherapy, NLP, Transactional Analysis (TA), Solution Focuses Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to create a personalised plan tailored to your needs. Hypnosis is often incorporated as part of a broader therapeutic framework, enhancing the depth and effectiveness of the process.

Counselling for the workplace

The modern workplace has become increasingly complex, especially in the wake of the pandemic, leaving many feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Adapting to these changes demands significant time and energy, further compounded by global uncertainties. This is particularly true for salespeople, who face daily challenges in an increasingly volatile environment, heightening their stress levels.

To maintain employee well-being and attract top talent, companies need to prioritise mental health initiatives. Promoting mental health not only supports staff but also strengthens the overall workplace environment.

Our programmes offer onsite or online initiatives to improve psychological safety, health, and performance through support and education. This includes Neurodiversity trainings, ADHD coaching and therapy, offering 1:2:1 support, a safe space to take a moment and talk openly in 100% confidentiality.
