Personal Coaching and Leadership Development

Volker helps men transform their productivity, leadership style and emotional intelligence to become more authentic leaders of themselves and others. This is why he founded Obnatus which means ‘Growing’ in Latin.

Choosing personal and leadership coaching means to choose growth. Partnering with someone who truly listens and tailors strategies to your unique journey.

Coaching brings a supportive yet challenging approach in a safe environment to help you break through barriers, fostering both personal and professional development. With a strong commitment to your success, coaching offers insights and tools that drive meaningful change.

Regardless of whether you’re an existing founder or a leading CEO, you might have a feeling that something is missing, or you aren’t fulfilling your potential.

You might be at a stage in your life where you’re no longer fulfilled with your career or there is tension at home. Or perhaps you just want to  become more productive and efficient and create the momentum you need to propel you forward.

Coaching starts with finding out what you want first, developing a plan based on what success means to you. It’s shifting a mindset and exploring your past, and it’s a lot about looking to the future.

And sometimes, just talking to someone who has an outside perspective helps. To talk through problems, decisions, or something you need to sort out.

  • Whatever keeps you awake at night, it’s useful to have non-judgmental support.
  • Volker’s coaching style is grounded in real-world experience, infused with a commitment to honesty and growth.
  • In the last 5 years alone, Volker has delivered more than 500 hours of personal and leadership coaching.

“I am not just a coach; I’m a dedicated ally in your corner, focusing on results that matter to you. Your success is my mission.”

About Volker

Originally from Germany, Volker moved to the UK in 2001 to complete his studies. As well as finishing top of his class with a BEng (Hons) and an MBA he is a Master Practitioner in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), and a mindfulness trainer.

Volker also holds qualifications in Strength Coaching, Business and Life Coaching, Unlocking EQ (Emotional Intelligence) as well as Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Having managed teams of 60+ people throughout his career, he also has extensive leadership experience, working with founders and CEOs of organisations of all sizes.

Throughout his life he has learned to adapt, change, fit in, stand-up and succeed, overcoming many of life’s challenges along the way.

As well as having an incredibly strong work ethic, Volker is passionate about spending time with his family, while also maintaining a 5 am routine, which includes meditation, exercise and journaling.

Studying part-time for his Psychotherapy qualification, Volker has also launched two highly successful podcasts, written a book on success, all whilst transitioning from a full-time role to an interim and fractional consulting role.

While he recognises the privilege of being a straight, white cis-male, he remains curious and empathetic, to create an inclusive coaching environment.

Stories of Success

Volker first ventured into podcasting in 2018 with his podcast ‘Stories for Success’. Dubbed as the ‘Tim Ferriss’ of Europe, he interviewed close to 100 high achievers, entrepreneurs, consultants, visionaries, coaches, and mentors about the processes and habits that fuelled their success. Using the knowledge gained from these inspirational leaders, he then wrote his bestselling book Principles for Success.

Man Up Man Down

In 2022 Volker and his friend David Pawsey launched ‘Man Up / Man Down’, a podcast for middle aged men. They discuss, and interview experts, on the pressures of being a man, approaching middle age. They have also hosted the first of many planned live events.

In today’s world, it is more important than ever to cut through the noise and stand out to be successful. Whether that is through building your own venture or flying high in the corporate world, the end game is to achieve “success”.

But what does that mean?

In his book ‘Principles for Success: What does Success Really Mean?, Volker distils his findings from what high achievers and visionary leaders define as success.

Over 19 chapters, Volker covers subjects such as:

  • Money and success
  • Serendipity and success
  • Success and making a difference
  • Growth mindset, failure and success
  • Mentors and success
  • Team and teamwork
  • Emotional intelligence and success
  • Mindfulness, meditation and success

Volker coached me effectively to find a new career path. His excellent knowledge about human nature and his people skills, asking the right questions, helped me to explore and succeed. I would always recommend him as a personal development and career coach.

Marco G., Senior Manager, Consulting

I have worked with Volker for almost 10 years. He has been a trusted advisor in several capacities for me. First, when I started in ad tech and media he mentored me through my master’s thesis into my first years on the job. As a first-time entrepreneur, I could always count on Volker confronting me with uncomfortable truths about myself. He is what I would call an ‘honest coach’. Someone who you can trust to drive you forward.

Jost L., Founder and CRO

I’m feeling so inspired, excited and motivated about what lies ahead and the impact I have on my life and on the lives of others.
THANK YOU Volker!!!

For best results, I decided to not ask for a minimum commitment in terms of lengths of engagement. Instead, I want to offer as much flexibility to your coaching as possible.

Sessions can be booked in blocks of:

  • 4 sessions @ £300 a session
  • 7 sessions @ £270 a session
  • 10 sessions @ £240 a session
  • 14+ sessions @ £200 a session

*Every coaching session is planned for 50 minutes to allow time to finish on the hour.

**All booked sessions must be paid up front; prices are plus VAT

You don’t have to use all sessions within a specific time frame, and what a lot of my coaching clients prefer to do is buy bulk sessions up front to save some money and use them as they go along.

In our first session we can establish when you want to use your sessions. Most clients benefit from 4 sessions up front, and then less regular sessions over the coming months.

For weekend coaching sessions I charge extra, but I can make myself available at evenings at the same price as above.

Remember, whilst prices are by the hour, you pay for the experience of your coach.
